Jaime
Lee is a Perth artist who creates explosive watercolour paintings. Her
subconscious takes over and whimsical characters are brought to life through
rapidly applied colour, creating textural bleeds and bleached out grounds and
worked back into with ink to create form. Jaime Lee's artwork is published in
the Curvy 5 book, compiled with 100 of the best female artists from all over the
world. Jaime Lee recently exhibited at The Bakery, showing large scale original
works and combined photography with her artwork.
Although Jaime Lee loves to paint her real passion is design. She studies
Fashion and Textile Design at the WA School of Art, Design and Media. Last year
she opened the show at The Fragile Fashion Parade at Capitol and featured in the
Xpress Winter Fashion magazine. Jaime Lee is inspired by colour and texture and
aims to turn her art into garments. She describes her style as avant garde,
wearable art with less being a bore. Jaime Lee also sells her textiles to
Karolina York print studios in Sydney.
